All PwD rides must be requested at least one working day prior to the scheduled trip before 2:00 p.m. TAWC will pick you up at home (or another location of your choice) and take you to your destination. Then pick up at a scheduled time and return you to your home.
Shared-ride trips are scheduled based on demand and the availability of resources. The PwD program does not provide extra services beyond what TAWC currently provides, but offers a substantial discount on its existing shared-ride services.
TAWC fits all trip requests into a schedule that varies day to day. Some vehicles fill up quickly; make reservations as soon as possible up to two weeks prior to departure.
While TAWC makes every effort to meet the needs of its customers, there are limited resources and TAWC may not be able to accommodate every request.
Qualified participants receive an 85% discount on all rides:
- Rates vary depending on distance traveled.
- Cost will be determined at the time the reservation is made.
- All participants must bring exact fare when you ride.
PwD covers transportation as a last option. If you are eligible for shared-ride transportation under another program, such as the Medical Assistance Transportation Program (MATP), your medical or medical related trips will be provided under MATP. The PwD program is supplemental to the other funding sources available to persons with disabilities.
